BEHAVIOUR OUTSIDE SCHOOL HOURS

A student of Nazareth School behaves well even outside school and wherever she/he goes. The school will take necessary action when misconducts may be reported which are immoral or violent.

IDENTITY CARDS

Every student will be provided with a set of 2 Identity Cards. The student ID card must be worn to school as part of the uniform. The other must be carried by the person assisting the child, to be produced at the school gate on demand.

RULES REGARDING SCHOOL UNIFORMS

• Every student must come to school in clean well pressed uniform
• Shirts need to be tucked in neatly
• White slips are to be worn.
• Red Shorts need to be compulsorily worn under the skirt.
• Nails need to be cut and kept clean always.
• Socks must be clean.
• Boys must have regular, clean haircut.
• Simple pure white hair ribbons for Regular and Sports Uniform are permitted. Hairbands must be white, if worn.
• Ornaments, mehandi and nail polish are not part of the uniform.
• Ornaments are not part of the uniform.

An attitude of universal love and compassion for all of God’s creation and develops a sense of the Divine and is able to commune with God. Thus she / he gives personal meaning, worth, energy and direction to one’s life and actions.

STUDENT LEADERSHIP THE STUDENT COUNCIL

The student council has been established to assist the Principal and the staff in the smooth running of the school. The council consists of the Head girl / boy, Assistant Head girl / boy, the games captain, and assistant games captain, the prefects, the house captains and vice captains, the Editor, Co- editors, Band leaders and cultural secretary. These office -bearers play a vital role in maintaining discipline and order. All students are answerable to the office bearers for their conduct in the school. Along with staff editors, the editors and co-editors are responsible for the school magazine.

Students promoted from Sr. K.G. to Class I are required to fill in the prescribed admission form for Class I.

HOUSE SYSTEM

The students belong to one of the four houses: Catherine, Vincent, Lawrencetta, and David. The houses are named after the founders & co-founder, patron saint, and first Indian superior. The house colors are Green for Catherine, Blue for Vincent, Red for Lawrencetta, and Yellow for David. Each house, under its moderator and captain, tries to live up to the ideals of its patron. The houses compete with each other in studies, sports, and other activities.

Students promoted from Senior K.G. to Grade 1 are required to fill in the prescribed admission form for Grade 1.

GENERAL RULES

• Pupils must be in the school compound five minutes before the bell rings. No student is allowed to come late to school.
• Action will be taken against a pupil who comes late regularly.
• All students are expected to speak in English on the school premises.
• Politeness, courtesy in speech, and discipline are expected from the students.
• Pupils may not leave the school premises during school hours or recess without the permission of the principal.
• Private tuition is not encouraged.
• Students should wear clean uniforms to school daily and pay attention to the cleanliness of their bodies, books, and other belongings.
• The school will not be responsible for any items lost by the students.
• Punctuality and regularity in studies should be observed.
• No student should be sent to school if suffering from contagious or infectious diseases (e.g., chicken pox, measles, mumps, jaundice, etc.).
• No Leaving Certificate or Examination Report will be granted until school fees are duly paid.
• Every pupil must possess a school diary, which should be brought to class daily. Non-attendance and leave records should be entered in the diary and signed by the parents. Parents are also expected to sign messages and reports.
• Parents/Guardians should not visit the classrooms or meet the students during school hours except with the permission of the principal.
• Parents are requested to ensure that their children are taken home immediately after school hours. The school will not be responsible for children not reaching home.
• When communicating with the school authorities, parents are requested to mention the name and class of their child.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION PROGRAMME

The school has a regular physical education program, with coaching facilities available for athletics, basketball, volleyball, throwball, and cricket. Counseling facilities are provided for the students
